For example, Asian students often meet criterion 3 (educational background/intellectual ability) but lack communication skills. Even Harvard graduates won't advance to interviews without communication skills and financial knowledge.
Similarly, even McKinsey consultants can't join hedge funds without financial knowledge. This makes career changes difficult for inexperienced candidates. However, pursuing an MBA or graduate degree can address this all at once.

②Interviews, Stock Pitches, and Internship Evaluations
Once you overcome the specifications barrier, the selection process begins.
Hedge fund selection is special. There are typically over 10 interviews on average. Furthermore, you must participate in internships, demonstrate your capabilities there, and achieve results before receiving an offer.
Hedge fund selection is a 360-degree evaluation. Surface-level techniques won't suffice. For example, you'll be required to submit a "stock pitch" - analyzing and completing a report on one stock within a week.
