Job Purpose
This is a leadership role managing a Tax team. You will be responsible for further developing the team in country, cross sector, Tax Center for Japan.
The Tax Center will be responsible for the local tax planning, tax accounting, corporate tax compliance (both direct and indirect), including transfer pricing compliance, and US tax legal entity reporting for all Johnson & Johnson legal entities in Japan.

Lead for the cross-sector Tax Center in Japan
Directly reports to Senior Director, AsPac Tax Operations
Provides leadership of cross sector Tax Center in delivering tax support across all Johnson & Johnson companies in Japan
Main Responsibilities
Provide management, control and direction for the team, leading them through change ensuring team effectiveness and performance within available resources, including simplifying and streamlining tax process within the tax team
Manage the process of local tax reporting and compliance activities to ensure timely submission to the HQ/tax authorities, including partnering with Finance organizations for data accuracy and efficient processes
Provide tax advice and support to the Johnson & Johnson companies in Japan on all aspects of tax, including planning, local transfer pricing, group issues, ongoing projects, indirect taxes, potential mergers & acquisitions, divestitures and ad-hoc requests
Manage the relationships with tax authorities and consultants
Develop and retain high performing talents, Johnson & Johnson business knowledge, tax, technology & data analytics experience within the team (training, knowledge sharing etc.)
Oversight of the US legal entity reporting requirements and SOX compliance completed by the Tax team
Provide local tax input to SigniFi (CFIN, TranSCend, TranSAct) and other global/regional led projects before implementation
Collaborate and develop strong relationships with other Country Tax Centers and other stakeholder peers across the AsPac region
Assignment and Planning of Work
There must be an ability to stress the importance of deadlines and reporting requirements to peers; therefore, a strength to balance conflicting priorities is essential
There will be extra demands around the year-end reporting and tax return deadlines as well as US tax reporting deadline
The work can be of a non-routine nature with the timing of advisory projects governed by business needs; it is necessary to be agile to cope with these demands alongside other deadlines
Sufficient training courses should be attended each year in order to keep up to date with changing legislation developments
Other Working Relationships
Develop close working relationship with all partners (Finance Directors, local and regional finance organizations, etc.)
Collaborate with Global Tax colleagues around the world
Cooperate with other business teams across the region and worldwide as and when required, e.g., Legal, Supply Chain, Payroll, HR
応募資格(必須経験など)
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in accounting or tax; certified public tax accountant highly preferred
A minimum of 12 years of corporate, international tax experience in a multinational corporation and/or in an international tax firm
Previous experience of in-house tax and managing a team
Ability to take on challenge and work under pressure
Project management skills and ability to drive changes
Strong sense of collaboration and inclusion
Ability to develop and improve technical competence of team
Analytical and attention to detail
Ability to convey complex issues to all levels of non-tax colleagues and make practical recommendations
Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English
