Your role
Are you a strategic thinker who maintains strong oversight over technology risk operations? Are you an experienced technology risk manager who will drive the risk agenda and have a good track record with APAC regulators?
If the above sounds like you, then we want to speak to you. We are going through a major transformation, and we want you as an APAC Technology Risk specialist.
We’re looking for a Tech Risk & Control Specialist to:
Act as a 1st Line of Defense (1LoD) for Japan Group Operations and Technology Office (GOTO) risk subject-matter expert providing risk and regulatory advisory support to technology teams and the business in location and globally.
Effectively use data and analytics to drive the compliance of Japan regulatory technology requirements and act as a conduit into 1LoD GOTO functional risk team. Proactively drive their engagement and delivery of technology risk initiatives impacting Japan.
Develop and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders (GOTO leadership, Compliance, Audit) and location regulator providing them with oversight on key technology risks and regulatory matters at UBS.
Provide a consolidated view of GOTO risks, including technology, third party and BCM risks and manage the GOTO location risk forums covering risks, controls, and key risk indicators.
Collaborate with GOTO stream issue owners and functional risk management teams to ensure appropriate management and timely closure of issues.
Develop deep understanding of the technology and cyber security controls, processes, policies, and risk framework in place to protect our clients and the firm.
Establish and maintain an effective risk culture and ensure that GOTO operates within the UBS Non- Financial Risk Framework.
Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams from different geographies and GOTO streams on risk & regulatory remediation initiatives.
Provide risk metrics as part of a centralised service to proactively manage risk in a timely manner.
This role is possible for hybrid work after probation period.

Your expertise
ideally 7+ years of relevant work experience in Technology risk management, risk control, audit, regulatory policies, or compliance, preferably within Financial Services.
relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline (technology, management)
native or business level Japanese with fluent English communication (verbal and written)
a strong and in-depth understanding of Japan regulators including key technology, cyber security regulations and understanding of outsourcing and BCM regulations.
proven ability to identify and manage risks in complex technology environments using recognized risk management frameworks and standards.
outstanding communication and influencing skills, enabling you to work strategically and with attention to detail, aligning with organizational goals, and fostering collaboration across teams.
ability to work collaboratively and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, and with senior business executives.
sound experience in data analysis, validation, and presentation of results (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI)
