What you’ll do
Learn the fundamental research and analysis skills needed to be an analyst at Point72 and apply intellectual curiosity in a role that values creativity, autonomy, and analytical rigor.
Develop sophisticated company analysis and modeling skills from our Academy faculty, investment professionals and professors from some of the world’s leading universities.
Learn statistics, accounting, financial modeling, data analysis, coding, and more.
Complete a compliance training curriculum to prepare you for an analyst role.
For all Academy Associates, at least a portion of this training will take place in our New York City office.
Receive tailored training on APAC markets.
Learn more about the local teams and office culture in your respective region.
Apply the skills you’ve developed to real-life situations as you rotate with two investing teams.
Gain firsthand experience and valuable mentorship from our investment professionals during your rotations.
Team rotations will take place in local offices.

Who should apply
When we hire for the Point72 Academy, we’re looking for potential. We’re interested in problem-solvers offering a unique perspective that could be applied to investing. Backgrounds of interest include but are not limited to:
Finance: sell-side, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, insurance, venture capital, and more
Industry-specific experience (including consulting) in areas such as:
Oncology, pharma, immunology, gene therapy, cardiology, and other biological and/or medical sciences
Geoscience, chemical engineering, renewable energy
Software engineering, cloud computing, sales and solutions engineering
Those with superior analytical skills as demonstrated through work experience and/or graduate education in law, philosophy, economics, history, political science, journalism, humanities, or liberal arts
In addition to prior professional experience, we’re looking for people with:
The ability and ambition to learn quickly as we prepare you to join a long/short equity investing team as an investment analyst
Demonstrated passion for problem-solving, no matter the discipline
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others
Fierce commitment to ethics and integrity
Self-motivation, maturity, and eagerness to learn
Exceptional critical and analytical thinking ability
An undergraduate degree (or above)
Candidates with a high proficiency, written and verbal, in both Japanese and English
