With your technical expertise you manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables. You design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
Translate is one of the largest and most loved Google products used worldwide. We are working on enabling amazing translation experiences through instant camera translations, voice conversations, and more. In this role, you will care deeply about enabling mobile user experiences and features in the Translate Android application. You will create translation experiences for our users, working with partner teams across Google to develop innovative features.

Responsibilities
• Develop features for the Translate Android mobile app using the latest tools for Android such as Android Studio with Blaze.
• Design and implement large, complex features such as real-time speech translation experiences, instant/non-instant video translation, and enriched offline experiences.
• Design and implement user event logging, taking into account product development needs and integration across other mobile applications.
• Introduce, encourage, and use best practices in software development and testing.
• Play an active role in architecture and design discussions.

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 3 years of experience in Android application development
• Experience programming in Java and/or Kotlin
• Experience with developing Android Applications
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience in Android application development, building innovative user interfaced, and testing frameworks
• Interest working in a global environment
• Ability to speak and write in English fluently
