Position Description
You will join our Asset Management Alternatives Controller group. You will be based in our Tokyo office to provide Accounting & Finance support to our Asia Real Estate Group. Our Asia Real Estate Funds invest in direct Real Estate across seven markets in Asia. You will require partnering closely with members of the Asia Real Estate businesses as well as other support functions across Asset Management.
Job responsibilities
Review of Financial Statements relating to property, SPV and Fund Level
Processing NAV Consolidations (roll up of entities JGAAP/USGAAP Conversions) and review of monthly and quarterly NAV’s
Review of trial balances, management fees calculations, and carried interest calculations
Preparation of Financial and Investor Reporting; Calculating tax provisions
Oversight of external parties e.g., Administrators and External Accounting providers; Audit coordination
Payment preparation for drawdowns and distributions related to SPV’s and funds
Providing support to Portfolio Managers, Acquisition and Asset Management teams and liaison with the business on all matters related to Finance & Accounting

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
A university degree, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Finance & Accounting background
Ability to work independently and as part of a broad team with colleagues across the globe
Ability to manage workload and meet tight deadlines
A strong understanding of Real Estate financial statements and related disclosures and experience in Japanese accounting treatment (JGAAP)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex matters clearly to all levels of the organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications in particular Excel
Fluency in Japanese and English
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience in Real Estate from a fund, administrator, audit, or other relevant financial services organizations
Experience in Real Estate accounting practices
Professional qualifications e.g., CPA or CFA
Experience in handling TMK/GK structure
