Lead external engagement with Japanese policymakers on challenges and issues that are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business and technology intersect.
Support the Asia Pacific (APAC) Public Policy Director for YouTube by developing public policy campaigns.
Monitor and assess the impact of issues affecting YouTube’s business operations and interests in Japan’s political context.
Work with the Japan Government Affairs and Public Policy team, YouTube PR, and Marketing teams to implement YouTube campaigns and activities to inform policymakers.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in public policy within a government, industry, or civil society organization.
Ability to speak and write in English and Japanese fluently.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with the Google and YouTube products in Japan and/or the tech industry.
Experience with shaping policy on issues relevant to YouTube’s business operations.
Knowledge of issues affecting YouTube’s business operations and interests in the Japanese and broader APAC political context.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, with a strong track record of executing cross-functional projects.
Excellent team player, with the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing and stressful environment.
Excellent personal, political, problem solving, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
