We will count on you to:
Act as a trusted advisor to the Japan Chief Executive Officer and their Leadership Team on people and organizational design and effectiveness matters.
Provide consulting advice and counsel on complex people-related topics; ensuring advice and counsel reflect local legal issues, regulations and market conditions.
Have a deep understanding of global Marsh McLennan people strategy and the people function’s capabilities and services and communicate these with impact to the Executive Leadership and key stakeholders.
Facilitate conversations and establish strong partnerships between business leaders and advisors from other parts of the People function.
Ensure excellence of HR service delivery and standardization of processes and programs in order to provide a consistent, positive colleague experience.
Collaborate with their peers and COE and HR Services partners to translate business and HR needs into leading practice, cost effective and high-quality HR services.
Oversee key talent, reward, inclusion and diversity, and organizational effectiveness processes and programs working in close partnership with the HR function’s COEs
Collaborate with the Employee Relations COE to provide business perspectives on policy matters and standardization; Advises on cases that require escalation to senior leadership levels.
Where required, acts as the senior business representative in regulatory or statutory processes whether internal (for example, works councils) or external bodies (such as immigration authorities)
Manage collaborative relationships with other Function and Business leaders, and coordinate strategies and tactics to align with Marsh McLennan’s objectives.
Manage and hold accountability for the annual regional people budget; identify and oversee opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
Take direct accountability for managing direct reports and lead the full team of HR professionals in the Japan team

What you need to have:
More than 15 years progressive Human Resource (HR) experience including leadership of a multi-business HR function, preferably from a professional services environment.
Undergraduate degree in appropriate area is essential. Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related studies is an advantage.
Proven ability to translate a set a clear and compelling vision into action and lead business transformation at pace, ensuring colleague followership and business stability.
Proven ability to bring the whole firm/enterprise together and drive organizational effectiveness and change.
Distinguished advisory and consulting skills combined with pragmatism regarding solutions.
Proven ability to deliver a meaningful portfolio of work on budget, balancing near-term advancement with progress toward longer-term goals.
