JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is a Middle Office position that provides post-trade Operations support to the Japan Fixed Income Sales & Trading franchise across a wide range of asset class in Securities business. Team’s functions include Trade Management, Drafting & Affirmations, Pre-Settlements monitor, Event management, Client service, Local Regulatory Reporting and Internal Controls & Projects. The role involves coordination with various internal stakeholders to facilitate business, efficiency, control and regulatory initiatives, thus requiring active engagement & partnership at local and global levels in order to accomplish our firm’s strategic deliveries.
Job responsibilities
Full accountability of End-to-End query resolution for Fixed Income trades post-execution, from releasing confirmation to settlements and reporting. The role also includes reference data setup related to Fixed Income trades.
Act as the first line of defense to ensure that the trades follow the market policies and the regulatory rules.
Daily communication with Front Office and Clients to facilitate the trades for successful execution and settlements by collaborating with offshore operation and technology teams.
Manage new business initiatives from Front Office/Clients to support the business expansion opportunities.
Involvement in projects to innovate the current system structure to achieve higher efficiency and control.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
Team worker with strong communication skills to manage stakeholder’s expectations and flexible mindset to changes.
Ability to multi-task and work in a time-pressurized, fast paced and dynamic environment with tight deadlines to meet on a regular basis.
Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including taking the initiatives to lead the process changes and enhance the existing controls.
Ability to make independent judgements based on the firm policy for ad-hoc queries.
Native Level Japanese and Fluent in English. Communication between Front Office and Clients are mainly in Japanese / Communication between internal stakeholders outside of Tokyo are mainly in English.
Client communication experience in Japanese.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Experience in Middle Office function or in a task-oriented working environment
Familiarity with Fixed Income Products (lifecycle, settlement, regulatory rules etc)
Digital solution’s knowledge (preference: UiPath, Alteryx, Xceptor)
Self-starter and ability to learn quickly.
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
