Job Description

This role holder will act as the Head of Human Resources for Japan.

You will be an experienced Human Resources (HR) partner who supports business growth by providing strategic, value added and consistent HR consultancy to all line of business in Japan.

Responsibilities range from developing the people strategy and plans for the Japan franchise, driving the implementation of critical HR initiatives, supporting significant regulatory requests and ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives.

Although the primary focus of this role will be the Japan business, you will collaborate across the APAC region with various stakeholders and HR partners to ensure consistency of processes and sharing of best practices.

The role reports into the Asia Pacific Head of Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

Build sustainable partnerships with senior executive stakeholders and business leaders to understand their business priorities and provide tailored HR solutions that will deliver against the business objectives
Develop the annual Japan people plan and priorities and drive/own the delivery of key objectives and track/monitor/report progress
Responsible for leading, managing and delivering change programs across the Japan franchise
Work with the respective lines of business and legal entity management to ensure that business is conducted in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations and policies
Act as a liaison and foster good relationship with regulators, local banking associations and peer groups to keep abreast of any changes or new regulations
Responsible for HR strategic consultancy to senior executives and oversee the delivery of operational services across multiple divisions in country
Member of the Country Leadership Team and BANA-Tokyo LMT as well as various other formal governance committees, you will be a key partner in all governance routines
Develop strong partnerships with Regional HR Executives and specialist functions to ensure HR consultancy and services are aligned to global and regional people priorities whilst meeting local requirements including but not limited to recruitment and termination, performance management, learning & leadership development, compensation & benefits, HR policies review and implementation, employee relations and any other HR initiatives/projects.
In partnership with Employee Relations (ER), support conduct investigations to ensure a thorough, consistent and fair approach is adopted and challenge leaders to manage people issues in a fair, objective and consistent manner
Assess inherent HR and people risks across the franchise and develop strategies and plans in order to mitigate risk and protect the business/our reputation via influencing and partnering with regional and global HR teams and control partners
Develop and maintain relationships with and form alliances with external peers and represent Japan HR and Bank of America on appropriate external forums


応募資格(必須経験など)

Key Requirements

Bachelor degree or above, preferably in Human Resources or psychology
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar HR capacity in the banking industry
Significant experience of strategic Business Partnering preferable developed within a global, complex and fast paced business with a track record of developing strong executive relationships and managing senior executive stakeholders.
Solid knowledge of Japan labor legislation and practice with ability to exercise sound judgment in applying legislation in the work/business environment.
Relationship management skills including the ability to communicate, influence and collaborate with different levels of stakeholders as required in a range of complex situations.
Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, facilitation, client service orientation, leadership, influence, teamwork and collaboration
Japanese language capability
