About the Role
Based in Tokyo, Japan, this role sits within the Japan Consumer & Market Insights team, supporting end-to-end CMI partnering, from mix creation to deployment, specifically:
▪end to end innovation partnership for renovation and innovation projects, post-launch reviews included
▪campaign impact evaluation, from an asset creation to media placement and extract learnings that will drive continuous improvement in our brand communications
▪category & brand growth opportunity spotting, measuring in-market performance to identify opportunities to sharpen 6P levers and actions to harness growth
Core Responsibilities
▪Lead different innovation research projects from ideation/co-creation to final testing of the full mix
▪Lead meta learnings, cross-pollination, innovation monitoring (incrementality KPI etc) and real time management of innovation projects
▪Full cycle of Content Creation- Qualitative and Quantitative, including advanced developmental research, across both Seek and Interrupt Content, TVC and Digital Content and including last mile content (In store or E comm Content)
▪Lead in-market tracking/optimizations for market specific campaigns and uncover learnings and insights and embed into future campaign planning
▪Integrate multiple data sources (continuous sources, in-store observation, and primary research) to help understand the actions required- across all the marketing 6 PS
▪Manage ad hoc custom research projects as per business requests

• Analytically minded and numerically oriented.
• Capability to derive insights from integration of different data & connecting the dots
• Opportunity spotting skills, with data deep diving abilities
• Ability to take a brief and help ensure that the research will deliver what our internal customer needs, not just what they asked for.
• Strong project management skills – from briefing to debriefing
• Experience in working with continuous research data and database (retail and consumer panel, brand tracking)
• Develop output, which is simple, fact-based rather than fact-filled, focusing on storytelling, recommendations and impact to get growth
Experience and Behaviors
• 3+ year experience
• Experience in Sales or CMI or Research Agency is a prerequisite
• Proficient in Japanese and English – both oral and written
• Basic understanding of retail & channel landscape, of market research, and analytical skills
• Strong project management skills
• Good communication and presenting skills
• Highly collaborative - Able to ask for help and work with others (both within CMI and other functions) effectively
