MMB Advisory is a developing part of the Mercer Marsh Benefits organization and is currently well established as a practice in other regions. MMB Advisory provides clients with expertise, insights, and advice to optimize health and benefit programs, so they are valued, relevant and affordable. We are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates to establish, build and lead the MMB Advisory organization for the Asia region. Reporting to the MMB Asia Leader, with dotted line reporting to the Global MMB Advisory Leader as well as the Global MMB Multinational Advisory Leader, this role leads, and is accountable for, the sustainable growth and ongoing innovation of consulting capabilities across the Asia region. As a member of the MMB Asia Executive Leadership Team, this role is critical in driving MMB Asia’s future growth and success.

The key objective of this role is to lead the development of consulting solutions, capabilities and intellectual capital at the country level including thought leadership across MMB Asia, fostering a forward-looking, positive and profitability focused culture by using an issue led approach to our consulting and broader propositions. This role will be responsible for establishing MMB Advisory for scale by driving the development, enablement, sale and delivery of health and benefits focused advisory solutions across all domestic market segments and partnering with the Multinational Advisory team in respect to driving growth in the Multinational client base. The MMB Advisory leader will play a key role in shaping the advisory strategy for the region, assessing how to fill capability gaps and supporting the Multinational Advisory team in respect to the regional application of global initiatives. This will include a focus on standardization, modernizing MMB Asia’s data analytics, better alignment of teams, enhancement of the commercial model and reporting on the value of MMB Advisory to the firm overall.

The role requires a senior executive with strong, visible and reputable leadership in the marketplace with the ability to establish, launch and grow a new business, along with commercial acumen, knowledge and experience in the Employee Health & Benefit space, preferably in the Asia region, a deep understanding of the sector and outstanding stakeholder management.

We will count on you to:

Expand advisory aspects of MMB’s value proposition and drive disruption around how benefits are designed, financed, and delivered offering creative, consultative data-driven approaches to complement the business’ core brokerage, placement, and digital capabilities.
Proactively position the business at the forefront of emerging areas outside of the insured benefit space based on key themes and social change including modernization of employee support programs and healthy organizational cultures.
Develop strong connections with regional insurers and build a regional strategy for data capture and analysis in respect to key health trends and inflationary drivers in major markets to inform and enhance MMB analytics and advisory capabilities.
Upskill local MMB Advisory teams on technical areas, commercial acumen, Advisory methodologies and other consulting skills and support efforts to improve skills of other colleagues to be more consultative.
Use Partner with the country/regional and multinational advisory structures to build a strong internal and external voice along with consulting offerings around an ever-wider field of play.
Inventory, assess, supplement, and grow existing consulting capabilities across the region. Align various advisory teams to enhance the client and colleague experience.
Work with sales, enablement, and country leadership to develop the business’ consulting & advisory capabilities to sell and deliver both generalist and specialty work.
Support the development of new advisory propositions including but not limited to consulting (general design, workforce health, flex/choice, plan member communication, actuarial/financial, governance) on a single or, in partnership with the MMB Multinational team on a multi-country basis.
Support global efforts to enhance overall profitability of Advisory including instituting guardrails to ensure remuneration is in line with value delivered and improve commercial acumen of colleagues.
Champion efforts to modernize analytics and offerings in areas such as plan design benchmarking and claims analysis.
What you need to have:

Significant experience in a senior leadership role, at the Executive level, within the consulting industry with exposure to health and benefits in the Asia region, across various markets.
Ability to effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure delivery of financial targets and business goals.
Track record of selling and delivering on complicated and challenging projects, involving a range of stakeholders, potentially with competing objectives.
Strong technical ability, with an appreciation of the challenges clients face and how solutions and client engagement need to evolve in the health & benefits space.
Strong connections to senior employer decision makers within region.
Proven strategic planning skills, business, and commercial acumen to drive performance, change and growth for the organization.
Significant people leadership experience (direct and indirect capacity). Demonstrated coaching, motivational, training, mentorship, and management skills.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with an ability to consistently driving for results.

Ability to influence and persuade diplomatically with colleagues across the segment as well as across business units.
Fluent in written and spoken English, other Asia language skills are desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
