⚫︎ Through the guest speaker’s job-hunting story, I could clearly feel that the standards for job-hunting in BCF (Banking, Consulting, Finance) are rising year by year, and how demanding IBD selection is. I realized that BCF job-hunting is not something one can win with half-hearted preparation. I also gained a concrete sense of the level of “thorough preparation” needed to produce “overwhelming output.” Inspired by the guest speaker’s story, I am motivated to raise my own “normal” standard even higher.

⚫︎ From listening to someone who received an IBD offer, I learned what the core elements of job-hunting are and their importance. Learning the five key principles for winning job offers gave me the mindset I need to succeed in future overseas job-hunting and Boston Career Forum, and provided a strong boost in motivation. Since technical interviews make up a large portion of the selection process for global investment banks, I will continue to deepen my understanding of the markets through the Investor Training Program.

⚫︎ Hearing from a senior who secured an investment banking offer made me realize that pursuing job-hunting with a half-hearted mindset would only lead to regret later. The live words from today’s guest speaker carried incomparable persuasiveness and reaffirmed what the true “core” is. I will keep in mind that one’s career is largely shaped by their first employer and will give my utmost effort.

⚫︎ It was extremely valuable to hear directly from those who have already received offers—something one rarely has the chance to do. I understood the meaning of having a consistent, logical, and relatable reason for applying and personal pitch, as Mr. TJ emphasized. I will review my past actions, dig deeper, and strengthen my self-analysis.

⚫︎ Today’s discussion made me realize that simply copying someone else’s example is meaningless; rather, one must compete with content unique to oneself. Listening to the guest speaker, I strongly felt, “This does not apply to me,” which deepened my conviction. I also learned that it is necessary to think so deeply that you might wonder, ‘Is it okay to go this far?’—and I truly felt the profound nature of goal-setting. Thank you very much for today.

⚫︎ I was reminded once again that my preparation is far from sufficient, which lit an even greater fire in me. The graduating alum’s message of “You’ll absolutely be fine” resonated deeply. I will continue to work hard and prepare thoroughly.
